Business Trip (part 5) - The Return

The Last Day

Paid TollSo I woke up and watched the news seeing that the major airlines were still having delays, but not cancellations. I packed up and headed out. I had to stop by a Dunkin’ Donuts just to try it and then I was off onto the Everett Turnpike Toll road to the airport.

I pulled into the airport and dropped off the ridiculous rated car rental and then I headed in. The lines to check in for US Airways were long, but most were standing there not using the kiosks. TSA Bag CheckThe lady asked for people to step forward and no one did, so I went and checked in including my baggage. Well it seemed other flights were delayed, luckily mine was not though. I went to the security check-in to see the lines, but not as long as other major airports. It seemed it went quick until they checked my bag. I had a lead shield to protect the camera film, so they said my whole bag looked black and will be ‘thoroughly’ checked. The lady opened up ever zipper and slowly took everything out. She took the special wand and sniffed out my bag, going through everything. I am glad in a way, since there is more precaution now and making sure nothing will happen.
I waited a while, played pinball, grabbed a postcard from the gift shop and then waited for boarding. Always ZONE 3 and the aisle seat. Overlay WaitThere was some kicking and screaming kids, but no worries, I just made faces at them. I arrived into Charlotte, NC — which I realized I flew south, and not west towards Washington. Charlotte was a bit more southern and had the New Orleans kind of atmosphere. Another layover and then finally getting on my last flight home. I checked my ticket and saw that no more aisle seat! Flight - Mt. Rainier in the distanceI got my window seat home! Well.. the flight was long, girls from Florida for the World Series softball game in Kirkland, babies crying none stop for the 5 hour flight, some girls who had too much to drink, no head set to listen to the movie.. but the sun was out and I could not wait to see my Jenson and my family.

So I made it into Sea-Tac happy to be home again. Waited for my baggage and then.. Oh Boy!? The last luggage came out and no sign of my bag. :S Now I was getting frustrated. I wanted to go home, but now I don’t have my main bag. Well the only thing I could do was fill out the paper work and hope it comes soon. They said it could have come in on a different flight. Anyways, I headed over to the Shuttle Express and got on. I was the only one heading towards Everett, so it was the driver and I. We got to talk about life and he was from Persia and he talked about the life there and religion. I encouraged him by saying to work hard and have faith, that it is a land of free choice, but make the choice to work hard and not slack off like many others. Coming into Everett we said good-bye and good luck. Then I was welcomed by my Jenson.. the best way to end the day!
