Business Trip (part 3) - The Trainings…
Day 3
So it got down to making custom controls inside Visual Studio for the training site we are creating. Some simple functions we worked on were categorial lists, creating business rules, server controls in VB, and then into Document Management. When we used the library and the image editor, I was excited because it allowed the user to crop and resize when uploading into the library (something Greg was looking for). With this manager, Ektron Explorer, it seemed like a simple file system interface, yet I was not able to upload and got the great error -2147217911. They took the number and then tried to fix it, but no avail. We also used MetaData functionality to create a faculty listing along with Datacenter information. This was able to tie in certain faculty to datacenters for contact and vice-versa. Anyways, tomorrow Ian said he was going to get one of the Coldfusion developers to come over and help me with functionality in the same way we did it in VS.
Class ended early again and so I headed out to see some of the Antique shops before they closed up. Then after Nic called and wanted to go out to eat. We headed to an italian stone pizza place called Bertucci’s.
We headed out after good food and talking about life in our states. We headed west to see the many Dunkin’ Donuts again (we counted 6) and then into a small rustic town called Milford. Milford was what I have been looking for in a small town. The old time building structures, the brick layout and even police crossing guards while they had music in the park. I am going to head over tomorrow to take pictures with my last roll. More to come once I get the CF part of the training.
